About Seagrass Watch Moreton Bay

Seagrass-Watch Moreton Bay is an award winning, community based, habitat assessment program that, without its volunteers, would not be possible. There are around 150 volunteers that have adopted a site and therefore monitor it on a regular basis.

The program started in 2001 as an adjunct of the Seagrass Watch program in Cairns. Initial sites included Wynnum, Victoria Point and Ormiston. Since this time the number of sites has grown to 57 extending to all corners of Moreton Bay.

As the program is not-for-profit, it is relient on funding from government agencies and other organisations.
